Very nice traveling choices MM. I had never heard First Cut done by Van. My favorite has always been Rod Stewart.
And since I’m a big Elton fan, I just wanted to ad one of my favorite lesser known songs from the Madman album (the best in my opinion). It features the amazing drummer Ray Cooper. You could do an entire topic on this guy.
Indian Sunset (beautiful Bernie Lyrics)
One more lesser known from Don’t Shoot Me.
High Flyin’ Bird
Thanks for allowing my indulgence. I’m off to put on my Elton, Band and Dead albums.

Awesome choices. I love Elton and his early stuff is the best. I always loved No Shoestrings On Louise from IMO.
Nice job DD.

Was catching up on the recordings on our Dish receiver last weekend and one was an Austin City Limits with Etta James. I’d Rather Go Blind was “spirited” and made me smile – lots of fire in that lady still.
Great set of songs Maven.

We have similar taste. I like all types of music, actually. I love, love, love early Elton. My husband and I are also big Dead fans.
