Some favorites I’ve found recently while “diving”. Yes, I’ve become bored with the hinter lands of cable TV….on to the Internets.

Otis Redding, I’ve Been Loving You
From the Monterrey Blues Festival. One of my Top 10 Favorite songs.

Marc Broussard, jammin’ on the tour bus.

Ray LaMontagne, Your the Best Thing
At The Beacon in NYC.

Sam Cooke, Bring it on Home to Me
Another all-time favorite of mine….there’s just something about this music…

Joss Stone & Rod Stewart, Hot Legs

Amos Lee, Soul Suckers

Taylor Hicks, Long Train Running
A dedication to Corn Hole in Kentucky?

Stevie Wonder, Yester Me, Yester You
Yet another all-time favorite.

Barbra Streisand & Judy Garland, Happy Days/Get Happy
Two of the BEST voices of the 20th century.

Patsy Cline, Crazy
No matter how many times I hear this song, I never tire of it.

The Yardbirds, Louise
A young Eric Clapton on lead guitar.

Here’s the last one…ok, this is not music, but it is HILARIOUS….Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you PooPoo Broussard.

    Thanks for these videos.
The Sam Cooke and the Barbra/Judy songs have really helped me through a difficult day.

Many of these I remember when they were new —the Streisand & Garland really got me tonight.. I love the way you picked these and put them together — it makes for a whole mood thing (something I appreciate ha!) — but I recall that you {like I} made it kind of our life’s work to mastermind audio tapes for our friends years ago. I have actually started to do this again because so many of my friends tell me nothing is new in music and they are SOOOOO WRONG!!!

I still love the mixed tape/CD. I make playlists all the time…Halloween mix, Xmas Mix, Summer Mix, July 4th Mix, Birthday Mix, etc., etc. I truly enjoy all types of music and like to mix various genres to get the right vibe.

    Glad you liked these.

MM, I am so bad at gathering up good music that I would love a service like that–sounds like a great business idea. You are so good at finding different artists but with the same theme. Hmmmm……with your great business/marketing-minded brain I think you could make some moolah off of technologically challenged dummies like me.

You know Leejolem — that’s a good idea — the issue would be royalties associated with the songs in the playlist— not insurmountable though.

Woah…Meg and MM…we all loved making mixed tapes and cds…hmmm…the theory of self made mixed tapes. I wonder what that means about us….wikipedia here I come!!! MM is there a post in the theory of mixed tapes?

Thank you…you should be a dj…..thanks for sharing…royalties are not bad for an artist..that is how they eat, and how they pay for making songs and going on tour….we would never be able to share the music these artists make without them being able to make a living and make the music and bring it to you….thank you for bringing up the royalty issue…the royalties are small compared to what it costs these artists to bring the music to you..and most aren’t superstars…and those who are don’t usually stay so for very long…it is a VERY difficult life..a life dedicated to your fans…travelling all the time…missing birthdays, weddings, bachelor parties, and just sleeping in your own bed once in a while…anyway, this is an amazing collection of songs…love to you for sharing
