So, here is Marc Broussard’s new video of Love & Happiness from Yahoo Videos!
Love me some Marc.
It’s an interesting video and certainly different than some of Marc’s previous efforts.
p.s. Stay tuned for a very special Taylor Time….

I love love this! I am slowly beginning to develop a real crush on cajun men.

Great song. Hey MM, is there some connection between Marc and the Boogie Kings? Marc’s sound really reminds me of them.

Funny you should mention the Boogie Kings, huck.
Marc’s Dad, Ted, was the lead guitarist of the Boogie Kings and is in the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. Lead singer G.G. Shinn was a predominant influence on Marc as well as a mentor.

I was sure there was a connection but had no idea it was that strong. Did Marc ever sing with them? I looked on the Boogie Kings web site but didn’t find any mention of Marc. I would love to have a live album of Marc fronting the Boogie Kings and their great horn section.

I believe that Marc and Ted have sat in with the Boogie Kings now and then but Ted hasn’t played with them in a while, I don’t think.
A collaboration would surely be great but not likely. Marc still lives in Lafayette and jams with his Dad and others all over town when he’s there, as I understand it.
Here is a recent performance of Home with Ted on guitar. Saweet!

p.p.p.s. I couldn’t find Marc’s Love & Happiness on your Yahoo link either.. when I searched on the page that came up for ‘Marc Broussard’, the only results were for 2 other videos ??

The link is working for me, so I don’t know.
It you go to Yahoo Music and search on Marc Broussard, the video is listed under his videos.

Laurita – the same thing is happening to me! I searched only 2 videos, neither of them the one I’m looking for. I guess our computers don’t like us. 🙂

Update: I just tried again and it took me to the clip, but an “announcer” came on and said the clip was currently unavailable. Whatev!!

Hey guys. Thanks for all the nice comments about the Boogie Kings. Marc began sitting in with us in the mid nineties when his father (Ted) was performing with us. We met up one other time in Lafayette at the Back to Back club. Marc got up on stage with the big boogie kings band and blew everyone away, including the Boogie Kings band.

Well Ned, it still sounds like a great idea. Why don’t you talk to Marc and see about putting out an album together.
