Happy Birthday, Big E

09 Jan

That’s right! My dear Elvis Presley would have been 73 years old yesterday.  I was so caught up in the jubilation of the Tiger’s National Championship that it slipped my mind.

I don’t mean this a disrespectful…but it just makes me giggle to think of Elvis as only two years younger than my parents.

Sounds good, but remember: women were mostly housewives, the contraception was really iffy and lots of people sat in the back of the bus!!

    No Mojitos either…….

Elvis had light brown hair and dyed it black for contrast on black & white TV and movies. Handsome dude! I bet he’d be a good looking 73 year old!

@Colette – Ah yes, but the Martinis were divine.

@womptothepuss – I KNOW!!! I haven’t seen that one before. Mmmmm. Cut me off a slice.

@hickfineaux – Actually, Colonel Parker is the one who insisted on the dye job. He felt that it contrasted Elvis’ features. Elvis was actually almost blond. I found a progressive photo of Elvis at 73 on the ‘Net, but it was terrible. I think if Elvis had lived, he’d have eventually slimmed down again and would still be a nice looking gentleman. Those eyes…

Whoaaaaa, thats crazy that E would have been 73! How could that be? he is forever frozen in my mind and not in a good way. He was bloated and overweight but still, his voice as powerful as it ever was.

    Im getting old.

shrew, does it make it you giggle more to know that Elvis was way older than my parents? 13 years older than dad and 14 years older than mom.

That really is a stunningly hawt pic of the king.
